“Masterji”, “Mother of Choreography”; Bollywood mourns demise of Saroj Khan at 72

Bollywood on 3rd July, 2020 lost one of the most eminent choreographer, Saroj Khan, who is also addressed as “Masterji” by many actors as well as her students. Saroj Khan passed away early morning on Friday, 3 July, she was 72 years in age and lost her life due to cardiac arrest. “She passed away due to cardiac arrest at around 2.30 am at the hospital,” Saroj Khan’s nephew Manish Jagwani told news agency PTI. 

It was on 24th June, that the veteran Bollywood choreographer was admitted in the Guru Nanak Hospital which is situated in Mumbai. She was admitted after she complained of difficulty in breathing.  

As per the reports, this National Award-winning choreographer had tested negative for COVID-19. As per a report by ANI, Saroj Khan’s last rites will be performed at Malvani in Malad. 

Saroj Khan has choreographed dance numbers like ‘Ek Do Teen’, ‘Hum Ko Aaj Kal Hai Intezaar’, ‘Dhak Dhak Karne Laga’, ‘Choli Ke Peeche Kya Hai’, ‘Nimbooda’ and ‘Dola Re Dola’. Masterji choreographed around 2000 songs in her profession. Also, she not only showcased her exceptional work in bollywood but also in tollywood.

The last song which was choreographed by “Masterji” in Bollywood was ‘Tabaah Ho Gaye’ which starred Madhuri Dixit, and this song was from Karan Johar’s movie Kalank.

Many celebrities like Amitabh Bachchan, Madhuri Dixit Nene, Shahrukh Khan, Akshay Kumar, mourned the loss of such remarkable as well as an exceptional choreographer. Also, many tollywood celebs like Mohanlal, Mahesh Babu, Allu Arjun, sighed on Saroj Khan’s death.
