She doesn’t want her child to have old parents in their 20s
Elaborating further and providing a rationale for her decision, Kavita said that if she chooses to have a kid I her 40s, then they have only 20 years until they get old. She doesn’t want her kid to have to take care of their old parents when they are just in their 20s. The 20s are the stage where a person builds their own life and identity, and this process should not be marred by the worry of having to take care of old and aging parents. She also admitted that maybe she and her husband are not the maternal and paternal types. However, she went on to say that they intend to make the world a lighter place and they are not ok with bringing in a child to this overcrowded world and throwing him into the struggles of Mumbai.
In this day and age, this decision can be a wakeup call for many women, and may also lead to several other women making the same decision.
