Amid of the health issues being faced by the people all over the world due to smoking, the cabinet has approved the ban on e-cigarettes. This announcement is done by the government in order to reduce the risks posed by vaping. Nirmala sitharaman, said that the manufacture, import, sale, distribution and advertisements of e-cigarettes sold be a cognizable offence. Earlier, Nirmala Sitharaman has conducted a Cabinet Meeting where she spoke about quitting smoking.

Sale of vaping products got affected during e-cigarette ban
Ban on manufacturing, importing, sale and advertisement of vaping products will lead to the surge in the shares of the traditional cigarette making brands. According to Nirmala Sitharaman, e-cigarette was being promoted as a product to help quitting smoking however they are responsible for taking the numbers of death in US. Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar said it is better than cure. Before the vaping trend is absorbed by the youth, it is important to stop the menace at the earliest.
Large number of smokers can be lured
Another reason stated by a government official regarding the same, he said that due to the less carcinogenic effect of the smoking e-cigeratte, many youth can be attracted to this. Hence, it is better to keep the younger generations away from light. The main reason behind the ban on e-cigarette is to avoid the future generation from getting addicted to vaping.

Hefty fine imposed on vaping
Storage of electronic-cigarettes shall also be punishable with an imprisonment up to 6 months or fine up to Rs 50,000 or both. For those who violate this law will be punished to a term of up to one year. In addition to this, for the related offenses, jail term of up to three years or a fine of Rs 5 lakh and for the storage of electronic-cigarettes there is a punishment with an imprisonment up to 6 months or fine up to Rs 50,000 or both.
