A series of terrorist attacks took place in November 2008 in Mumbai, where 10 members of Lashkar-e- Taiba, an Islamic terrorist organization based in Pakistan, carried out by 12 subordinates who planned bomb attacks which lasted for 4 days across Mumbai. The Attack started on Wednesday 26 November and last till Saturday 29th November 2008.
India’s financial and entertainment capital was in the throes of one of the most shocking terror attacks the world had ever seen. 174 people died including 9 attackers and more than 300 people got injured. Out of all attacks, 8 of them occurred in South Mumbai at Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus, Mumbai Chabad house, The Oberoi Trident, The Taj Palace and Tower, Leopold Cafe, Cama Hospital, The Nirman house, The metro cinema and in a lane behind Times of India building at Saint Xaviers College.

India’s National Security Guards (NSG) conducted Operation Black Tornado to throw out all the attackers and end the attacks. Pakistani attacker Ajmal Kasab solely disclosed that the attackers were the members of the terrorist group Lashkar-e-Taiba among others. The Government of India said, that the attackers came from Pakistan and their controllers were in Pakistan, on which Pakistan later confirmed that the attack planner was a Pakistani citizen.

In August 2008, sources revealed that as many as 800 terrorist cells are operating in this country.
The Mumbai terror attack caused 231 civilian deaths in 2012 in India. Media has always been putting allegations regarding terrorism in India on Pakistan but Pakistan always denied Indian allegations. In September 2018, Indian police have announced that they have arrested a terrorist from the Hizbul Mujahideen group in the city of Kanpur, who wanted to attack Ganesh Chaturthi. Sources revealed that Pakistan’s intelligence service ISI was involved in the Mumbai attack.

FBI’s Most Wanted Sajid Mir

Sajid Mir has been announced as the most wanted accused in the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks and has been declared most wanted by the United State’s Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). With this Sajid Mir has become the world’s most wanted terrorist in the world who is believed to be in Pakistan. Sajid Mir was also the part of Let group which conspired and executed attacks in 2008 in Mumbai. The reward of 5 million dollars has been offered by the FBI for giving information regarding the arrest of Sajid Mir. Sajid Mir is the main leader behind the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks, who planned and executed the attacks.
He is believed to be a foreign recruiter for Let and the key person for the training camps. Mir visited Indian in 2005 using a fake passport issued by Pakistan in the name of Mohammed Awan. According to the FBI, the Sajid Mir is a middle-aged man. Six Americans were killed during this 3-day attack. Mumbai police arrested terrorist named Ajmal Kasab, from the team of Let This gunman confirmed that there 9 other shooters in the City and all were Pakistani nationals. Indian government permitted the American Federal Bureau of Investigation, FBI to interrogate Kasab directly. Kasab, independently confirmed to the team that he was told to do so, and the attack was directed from the Pakistani port city of Karachi with the help of mobile and Internet telephony.
