Now the Himalayas can be seen from the various parts of India for the very first time in this 30 years after population decreased because of the nationwide lockdown due to coronavirus.
In Punjab, northern state of India, residents are posting pictures of the Himalaya from about a distance of 125 miles away when the peaks came back in view after the air cleared. This is all because India, with a population of 1.4 billion is under lockdown because of the coronavirus pandemic, all the factories are closed and there is no any vehicle running on the streets.
This clear vision has amazed everyone and people are flooding social media with such clear and smog-free photos. Even the former Indian Cricketer, Harbhajan Singh, tweeted the view of the Himalayas from his roof in Jalandhar and wrote, “Never could imagine that’s possible.. a clear indication of the impact pollution has done by us to Mother Earth..”
And another resident posted, “What nature really is and how we screwed it up. This is Dhauladhar mountain range of Himachal, visible after 30 yrs, from Jalandhar (Punjab) after pollution drops to its lowest level. This is approx. 200 km away straight. #Lockdown21 #MotherNature #Global healing.”
Central Pollution Control Board of India said in a report that this lockdown is helping so much in healing the nature and it had resulted in a significant improvement in the quality of the air.
As per the WHO report, it is confirmed that the air quality of India has been improved by five times the safe limit as set by the WHO.
According to the WHO data, In 2012, around 1.5 million people died from the effects of air pollution.
Not only in India, even European and American cities have also experienced good air quality because of the lockdown of coronavirus.
In India, the current data of a number of deaths due to coronavirus is around 166 and 5,734 people are infected and the number is continuously rising.
