An important move is now taken by the Indian Government, where government had imposed ban on 59 China-linked applications. This list of apps has Tik Tok, We Chat, Xender and many other Chinese applications.
This move, came in wake of the tensions which are intensifying between India and China, specially after the incident which took place on 15th June, 2020, at Line of Actual Control (LAC), where India lost 20 soldiers, in the skirmishes with the Chinese soldiers at Galwan Valley in eastern Ladakh; Indians were filled with anger and hatred against the use of Chinese products as well as Chinese apps.
Now a formal order had been issued to the phone companies for halting these notified apps on the grounds of national security.
According to Hindustan Times, as per the statement made by the information technology ministry said a decision had been taken to block 59 applications “since in view of the information available, they are engaged in activities prejudicial to sovereignty and integrity of India, defence of India, security of state and public order.

Indian intelligence agencies had been assertive over imposition of restrictions on the listed mobile applications on grounds that all of these apps were designed for extracting data as well as parking them outside the country where they were to be used for intruding into the privacy of citizens.
Chinese companies have long been in the radar of suspicion for building backdoors in their hardware and software, and this is one reason why many governments of other countries have been worried at the prospect of deploying Chinese-made 5G networking equipment.
