The filmmakers sought to restrain both these channels from showing alleged irresponsible and derogatory comments towards the Bollywood. They also demanded a ban on conducting media trials against industry people.

As we all know that since after the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput, many artists of the Indian film industry are being targeted in drugs and other matters.
The petition, filed by filmmakers and Bollywood organizations, sought to prevent the right to privacy of film industry-linked individuals. They also demanded a ban on derogatory and baseless comments against Bollywood by Republic TV, its editor-in-chief Arnab Goswami, reporter Pradeep Bhandari, Times Now, its editor-in-chief Rahul Shivshankar, group editor Navika Kumar and by others on various social media platforms.
The petition filed by DSK legal firm said that this step has been taken because these channels were using the extremely derogatory language for Bollywood. The petition said that these news channels described Bollywood as full of filth and such things need to be cleaned. Many times they refer to Bollywood as ‘Bullywood’ and calling it the dirtiest industry in the country, which is loaded with LSD and cocaine.
