Renowned comedian Bharti Singh was arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) for possession and consumption of cannabis. Her husband Harsh also is being interrogated and arrested. NCB came into action after the arrest of one of the arrested drug peddlers.
NCB raided Bharti Singh’s house and office on the drug peddler’s behest. A total of 86.5 grams of cannabis was found from Bharti’s home and office. After this, the NCB team took Bharti Singh and her husband Harsh into custody. For more than three hours, Bharti and her husband were questioned by the NCB. According to sources, during interrogation, both confessed that they had consumed cannabis.

An NCB official said that the search was carried out under investigation by NCB for alleged use of intoxicating substances in the Entertainment industry. A team led by NCB zonal director Sameer Wankhede searched Bharti Singh’s residence at Lokhandwala Complex in Andheri based on specific information, the official said. A small amount of intoxicants have been recovered from his house.
After her arrest, Bharti will undergo a medical test and after that, she will be presented in NDPS court through video conferencing. Bharti’s corona test will also be done in the medical test. After all this, the legal process will begin. If the NCB feels, after being produced in the court, then it can demand the remand of Bharti Singh.
Earlier on 20 November, actor and model Arjun Rampal was questioned by NCB for several hours in the drugs case. Before Arjun, his girlfriend Gabriela Demetriades was questioned by the NCB for two days. Rampal’s friend Paul Bartel was also arrested. He is in judicial custody till 25 November.
