The woman said, “We both had relations since Azam was not even a cricketer. He attended school with me and we lived in the same locality. In 2010, he proposed me and I accepted him. As time passed, we thought about marriage. We told our families but they refused. So in 2011 we ran away and he kept telling me constantly that we would get married in court. We stayed in many rented houses, but he refused to marry.”
The woman said that she used to bear his expenses when Azam was not selected in the Pakistan team and even after that. She said, “As soon as he was selected in the Pakistan team in 2014, his behaviour got changed. The next year, I asked him to marry but he refused. In 2016 I said that I am pregnant, he started behaving strangely and gave me physical torture. I did not say all this to my family as we eloped from home.”
