Indian Diaspora across the world
The Ministry of Home Affairs gave information in the Lok Sabha that at present the government is not considering the proposal of dual citizenship. According to a TOI report, an average of 44 percent of people living in the US leave Indian citizenship. In Australia and Canada, this figure is 33 percent. In simple terms, 44 percent of Indians who go to America later settle there after taking citizenship. Apart from these three countries, a large number of Indians are also settling in countries like Britain, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, Singapore etc.
Why people are leaving citizenship?
Many experts believe that the reasons for the large number of migrations from India are usually due to better careers, financial prosperity and the future of children. According to the reports, in the last few years, it has been seen that about 80 percent of the people going to study abroad do not return to India and settle abroad. It is believed that in the coming years, there may be an increase in this migration. The reason for this is that a large number of Indians are now going abroad for studies. In such a situation, the number of people leaving Indian citizenship is expected to increase.
