Deputy Labour Minister of West Bengal Zakir Hossain has been seriously injured in a bomb attack by unknown assailants at Nimtita railway station in Murshidabad district of West Bengal. Police said that two other people present with the minister were also injured in the attack. Now according to sources, the West Bengal CID has taken over the investigation into the matter.
Superintendent of Murshidabad Medical College Amiya Kumar Bera, while explaining the condition of the minister, said that Zakir Hossain’s condition is stable and now he is out of danger. Minister suffered injuries in one arm and one leg. The minister has been shifted to Kolkata.
Piyush Goyal condemns attack
Railway Minister Piyush Goyal condemned the attack. He said that “I condemn the dastardly bomb attack on Nimtita railway station in West Bengal. I pray for the speedy recovery of those who were injured in this attack.”

A senior official of the West Bengal Police said that the Minister of State for Labour, Hossain, was waiting for the train going to Kolkata on the platform number 2 of Nimtita station at around 10 pm, when he was attacked.
Trinamool leader and senior minister Malay Ghatak has blamed the party’s political rivals for the attack, while Musharraf Hossain, who was expelled from the Trinamool and Murshidabad district council’s chairman, claimed it was a result of internal discord between the party. West Bengal elections are scheduled in April-May this year. The police is investigating the matter. Since the incident, there is a tense atmosphere in the entire area.
BJP district president Shibaji Singh Roy also injured in the attack
In another attack, North Kolkata BJP district president Shibaji Singha Roy has also been injured. He was allegedly attacked by TMC cadres at Phoolbagan. As per the information, clashes started between TMC-BJP workers in Phoolbagan after BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari was allegedly surrounded by TMC cadres. The incident took place when Adhikari was on his way to meet Deputy Commissioner of Kolkata Police.
Few days back, BJP leader Babu Master was attacked in West Bengal. His car was also attacked by a bomb. 10-12 miscreants surrounded his car and attacked him. He was badly injured in this attack. Babu Master was admitted to Apollo Hospital in an injured condition.
