Bollywood’s veteran actor Rishi Kapoor left us in 2020 after battling cancer for nearly two years. Before his death, actor was shooting for the film ‘Sharma Ji Namkeen’, but could not complete it. Now, Paresh Rawal has agreed to complete the film. Paresh will complete the remaining parts of the Rishi.

‘Sharma Ji Namkeen’ is scheduled to release on September 4 this year on Rishi Kapoor’s Birth Anniversary. Paresh will play the same character in the film, which Rishi Kapoor was playing. The producer of the film, Honey Trehan, told Mid-Day that special technology would be used with VFX to complete the film, so that quality was not affected. Negotiations are going on with some VFX studios for this. He told that only four days work is left.
The shooting of most parts of the film was completed in January last year. Soon after the death of his sister Ritu Nanda, Rishi started shooting for the film. The film is co-produced by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar while directed by debutant Hitesh Bhatia.

Rishi Kapoor died in April 2020, when the coronavirus pandemic was in full swing. The last visit of the Rishi could not be taken out due to panademic. Rishi was last seen in the role of a police officer in the film The Body, released in 2019. Emraan Hashmi played the lead role in this film.
