Bengaluru has become the best city in the country to live in cities with a population of more than 1 million. On the other hand, Shimla has been at the top among cities with less than 10 lakh population. The Union Housing and Urban Affairs Ministry released the Ease of Living Index Rankings on Thursday. Union Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Hardeep Singh Puri released this report. Notably, Delhi, the capital of the country, could not even make it in the top 10 among the cities. Delhi ranked to number 13.

111 cities of the country included in the survey
111 cities across the country participated in the ranking of the best cities to live in. The cities are divided into two categories. The first category included cities with a population of more than 1 million, while the second category included cities with a population of less than 1 million. In these cities, it was seen that the quality of living in them is at the same level, as well as the development work that has been done and what effect it has had on the lives of the people.
The ranking was started in 2018
The first time cities were ranked in 2018 is now the second time when cities were ranked in 2020. There are mainly three pillars in this category, these pillars living quality for which 35% marks were placed for ranking. The second pillar was for 15 per cent marks of economic qualification and 20 per cent marks for sustainable development, the remaining 30 per cent was attributed to the survey among the people, while 49 Indications based on which they were ranked.
The opinion of 32 lakh people included in the survey
With this, 14 categories were created for these cities. In these categories, the level of education of that city, health, housing and shelter, cleanliness, transport system, security system, level of economic development, economic opportunity, environment, green area, buildings, energy consumption were reviewed. After this, a survey was conducted among the people there. The survey was conducted from January 19, 2020, to March 2020. In this survey, 32 lakh 20 thousand people gave their opinion. This opinion was taken through various mediums including online feedback, QR code, face to face. After that, all 111 cities were reviewed and their rankings were given.
