Bollywood famous actor Rishi Kapoor , aka Chintu ji dies at the age of 67 on Thursday morning in Mumbai. He was diagnosed with cancer in 2018 and since then he was battling with it. For treatment he left India and stayed in New York for a year with his wife Neetu and returned India in 2019.
Mr. Kapoor was admitted to HN Reliance hospital on Wednesday morning after his health got deteriorated and on Thursday morning at 8:45 am he left this world. After his death Kapoor family gave a statement which reads “ Our dear Rishi Kapoor passed away peacefully at 8:45 am IST in hospital today after a two-year battle with leukemia. The doctors and medical staff at the hospital said he kept them entertained to the last. He remained jovial and determined to live to the fullest right through two years of treatment across two continents. Family, friends, food and films remained his focus and everyone who met him during this time was amazed at how he did not let his illness get the better of him. He was grateful for the love of his fans that poured in from the world over. In his passing, they would all understand that he would like to be remembered with a smile and not with tears. In this hour of personal loss, we also recognize the world is going through a very difficult and troubled time. There are numerous restrictions around movement and gathering in public. We would like to request all his fans and well-wishers and friends of the family to please respect the laws that are in force. He would not have it any other way.”
As news came out Bollywood took social media to express grief over his death. First tweet came from handle of Mr. Amitabh Bacchan which reads “T 3517 – He’s GONE .. ! Rishi Kapoor .. gone .. just passed away .. I am destroyed!”, After that almost every celebrity expressed their respect and grief on social media.

Rishi Kapoor Worked in more than 90 films, he achieved a great success and legendary position in film industry. His first movie was Mera Naam Joker in which he played a role of child and his last appearance was on The Body. He also led a happy family life with his wife Neetu , son Ranbir Kapoor and daughter Riddhima Kapoor. He was well known for his jolly nature among his close ones, he was the one who gave new heights to romance in Bollywood. His death is an irreparable damage to Bollywood.
