The only daughter of India’s richest man Mukesh Ambani, Isha Ambani wed business tycoon Ajay Piramal’s son, Anand Piramal with a week-long pre-wedding celebration in the lake city Udaipur. The vent was attended by big shots like US first-lady Hillary Clinton, business tycoons like Henry Kravis and numerous Bollywood biggies. Popular American singer Beyonce gave a special performance at Oberoi Udaivilas hotel.

According to reports, Ambanis had hired more than 100 chartered flights to fly guests to and from Udaipur. Over a thousand luxurious cars (Jaguars, Porches, Mercedes, Audis and BMWs) were made available at their guest’s disposal. The Ambanis also donated enough food to feed 5,100 people three meals a day for four days.They also set up a bazaar to showcase 108 traditional Indian paintings, pottery and other art from local artisans. Since the wedding was one of the grandest affairs of the country, lavish expenditure was an obvious expectation. Various media reports estimated that the cost of the week-long extravaganza at around $100 million whereas another report cited that the cost of the marriage is not more than $15 million.
According to another set of reports, Piramal family spent Rs 450 crore to purchase a sea-facing five-story bungalow in Worli, as a wedding gift for the newlywed couple.

Piramal Group has stakes in healthcare, life sciences, healthcare information management, specialty glass packaging, financial services, and real estate, and as per recent estimations, the group was worth $5.4 billion. Anand Piramal is the founder of Piramal Realty and he has also founded Piramal eSwasthya. It is a rural healthcare initiative that treats 40,000 patients a day. Isha’s father, Mukesh Ambani is India’s as well as Asia’s richest person, as his total wealth crossed Jack Ma’s wealth last year.
Mukesh Ambani is the Chairman of Reliance Group and has a net worth of $44.3 billion. Isha Ambani recently joined the Board of Directors at Jio and Reliance Retail, owned by Reliance. Reliance Group has an annual revenue of $66 billion and is India’s largest private sector company .
