History
Manipur is a state in northeastern India with Imphal as its capital. It was formed on 21st January 1972 and has 16 districts. It covers an area of 22,327 sq Km and has a population of almost 3 million. It is bordered by Nagaland to its north, Mizoram to its south, Assam to its west and Myanmar to its east.
The official languages are Meitie language and English. The tourist season starts from October to February. Polo known as royal game is originated from Manipur.
