BJP has landed into one more trouble after BJP candidate in Bhopal, Pragya Thakur, declared that Nathu Ramgodse who was assassin Mahatma Gandhi was a Deshbhakt. This compelled Election commissioner to seek report on the controversy from the Chief Electoral office of Bhopal.

Controversies along with Pragya Thakur
The sadhvi, Pragya Thakur is a BJP candidate against Congress’s Digvijay Singh. Right after her nomination as a party candidate in Lok Sabha election, 2019 she got involved in the midst of controversies. She is accused of Malegaon bombing case. In an interview she called Hemant Kirkire, a martyr of 26/11 terrorist attack, a traitor. She said that she had cursed him a month ago when he was shot dead by the terrorist. She also said that she is proud of her involvement in the demolition of the Babri Masjid in Ayodhya in 1992. Her controversial statements did not end. Later, she said that Godse was a Deshbhakt as a response against the statement of Kamal Hasan that Godse was a first Hindu terrorist.

BJP condemning her statement
After comments of sadhvi Pragya Thakur, BJP has asked her to apologise. BJP leader Amit Shah said in a press conference that the party has release a show cause Notice to Pragya and has asked her to reply within 10 days. However, Shah is questioned about her candidature in Bhopal then he said that it is a ‘satyagraha’ against the “fake case of saffron terror”.

Criticism from congress
Congress started criticising the statements made by Pragya Thakur. Party’s Digvijay Singh said that her statements were equal to Deshdroh. He also added that this type of patriotism has become an identity of BJP these days. Along with him, Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra has also said in a tweet that how Bapu’s assassin was a patriot? This is the third time when Sadhvi Pragya Thakur was involved in the controversy in the recent months.
