Republic Day is the day to remember because it is the day when India got its democratic rights after the constitution of India came into force.
We all know that India gained its freedom from British rule on 15th August 1947 and that night our Prime Minister, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru gave his famous speech “Tryst With Destiny” but with that Independence, India did not get its democratic rights. But after 2 and half years of Independence on 26th January 1950, the Indian Constitution came into force which makes our country the largest democratic country in the world. And on this day India declared as a Sovereign, Secular, Democratic, and Republic.
So, to honor this day, people of India celebrate republic day every year on 26th January.

The soul objective of this committee was to draft the Constitution of India, would be the supreme law of the nation. On 4rth November 1947, the committee submitted the first draft and it took 2 years, 11 months, 18 days in adopting the Constitution with the necessary amendments.
