- A senior Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) official announced that the women’s Indian Premier League (IPL) will begin in a one-month window in March 2023 and is expected to have five teams. Following a discussion between senior BCCI officials, it was decided that the competition should take place in March, immediately after the Women’s T20 World Cup in South Africa.

- The 12-day sporting extravaganza known as the Commonwealth Games 2022 that took place in Birmingham, England, is over. From July 28 to August 8, 72 nations from around the world competed in the Commonwealth Games (CWG 2022), also known as Birmingham 2022. India finished fourth in the medal count to round off its performance at these Commonwealth Games. In these competitions, India brought home 61 medals, including 22 gold.
