Actor Sanjay Dutt is diagnosed with lung cancer and it is being told that he has reached its stage-3. A close friend of Sanju has revealed this on Tuesday night. Sanjay was admitted to Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai two days ago with symptoms of difficulty in breathing and discomfort. After this, his COVID test was taken which came negative.
Earlier, Sanjay had posted on Instagram in the afternoon and informed about taking a short break from films. He wrote in the afternoon- “I will be back soon”
Sanjay Dutt did a post on social media after the reports came out. In which he was talking about taking a short break from his work. The post wrote- ‘Friends, I am taking a short break from work for medical treatments. My family and friends are with me. I request all my well-wishers not to worry. Also do not speculate unnecessarily. With your love and best wishes, I will be back soon. ‘
What does stage-3 mean?
According to the report, Sanjay Dutt is going through the third stage of lung cancer, which is considered fatal. According to doctors, there are two types of lung cancer, i.e., small cell cancer and non-small cell cancer. Small cell lung cancer spreads faster whereas non-small cell lung cancer spreads less quickly. It has three stages –
- Early-stage – cancer begins in this stage. During this time, its cells in any one part of the body start growing in the form of two to four. In this stage, a lung or part of the organ in which the symptoms of cancer have been detected can be removed.
- Intermediate stage – when cancer cells start spreading from one part of the body to another. In this stage, operation with chemotherapy, radiotherapy is also necessary.
- Advance stage – when the cancer cells completely spread to other parts of the body. In this stage, the chances of recovery are very low, but advanced chemotherapy can provide long-term treatment.
Sanjay is not with his family
According to news from Bollywood Hungama, Sanjay’s friend has revealed this. He said,” Baba is devastated”. He has small children. They are currently in Dubai with their mother. But it would be very difficult for them to hear this terrible news. Sanjay Dutt underwent several tests at Mumbai’s Lilavati Hospital, whose report came on Tuesday.

Had History of Cancer in his family
Sanjay Dutt’s family has a history of cancer in the past. Sanjay’s mother Nargis also had pancreatic cancer. She said goodbye to the world 3 days before the release of Sanjay’s film Rocky in 1981. Nargis Dutt Memorial Cancer Foundation was founded by Sunil Dutt in 1982 in memory of Nargis.
Richa Sharma, the first wife of Sanjay Dutt, also died of cancer. Richa had a brain tumour. She was married to Sanjay in 1987 and within two years of her marriage, she was diagnosed with cancer. She underwent cancer treatment in London for a long time. In 1996, 32-year-old Richa died due to cancer. At the same time, Sanjay Dutt went to jail in the 1993 Mumbai bomb blast case.
His new movie is coming on 28 August
Talking about the work front, Sanjay Dutt’s upcoming film ‘Sadak 2’ will be released on OTT platform Disney Plus HotStar on August 28. The film, directed by Mahesh Bhatt, will also feature Pooja Bhatt, Alia Bhatt and Aditya Roy Kapoor in addition to Sanjay Dutt.
